The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This exciting role reports directly into our Finance Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting for Bed Bath N’ Table and associated entities.
This role will be ideal for an experienced financial accountant who has worked within the retail space, leads by example, enjoys being hands on in the processing and delivery of month end / year end reporting and being a mentor for their junior finance team. Be the link between the Finance team and Finance management to achieve our goal of providing timely and accurate financial information and metrics to the Executive Team.
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for but not limited to:
- Month end close off and associated processes
- Managing and leading a team of Finance professionals ensuring timely completion of responsibilities, coaching and development.
- Year-end preparation including Tax Effect Accounting and Statutory Accounts
- Assisting with Budgeting & Forecasting
- Regulatory Reporting
- Monitoring control frameworks within the Finance Department and Group
- Continuous Process Improvement

- Tertiary qualified and CPA/CA qualification
- Previous experience in a Chartered Accounting firm or large corporate.
- Recent retail experience is preferred and would be highly advantageous in this role
- Strong experience in statutory reporting, tax effect accounting; exposure to FBT and GST
- High level of IT literacy, including advance excel and familiarity with Business Intelligence and Finance general ledger systems.
- Experience working/managing/reporting with large data sets
- Experience with process improvement projects, automation of financial processes
- Experience managing a team
