The Role
Reporting the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the return on investment through the planning of sales and inventory, maximising the sales potential and minimising the losses from stock outs and markdowns, carefully balancing the requirements of inventory to support sales with the constraints imposed by store layouts, warehouse and logistical issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Establish the seasonal sales budgets
- Analysis, review and forecasting the seasonal budget weekly and recommending strategies to maximise sales potential
- The quantification of promotional, seasonable and core product ranges
- Maximise sales potential, minimising losses from stock outs and markdowns
- Liaison with planning, buying, product development and warehouse teams.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous Merchandise Planning experience, 3-5 years.
- Strong merchandising planning principles
- Highly developed analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft excel and merchandise processes and systems
- Strong understanding of retail mathematics
